Nichols- Joe P. Elliott, 77, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Loris Community Hospital. He was born in Marion County, a son of the late Robert Paul Elliott and Estelle Rushing Elliott. Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife, Anita Elliott of the home; two daughters, Gail (James) Buffkin of Nichols and Sherry (Steve) Floyd of Nichols; four brothers, James (Geraldine) Elliott of Nichols, Larry Elliott of Nichols, Wayne Elliott of Nichols, and Ronnie Paul Elliott of Nichols; one sister, Lula Belle (Arvil) Anderson of High Point, N.C.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2011 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins with burial to follow at Elliott Cemetery in Nichols.
