James Randall "Joe" Jenkins, 72, of Marion passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. He was born in Marion on October 5, 1946, the son of the late James Ralph Jenkins and Nannie Marie Hinson Jenkins.

Joe worked as a senior lineman with Progress Energy for 37 years. Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his buddies at "The Shed", hunting and fishing, and just being with friends.

Joe was predeceased, in addition to his parents, by a brother, Charlie Jenkins and a sister, Annette Marie McLellan.

He is survived by a daughter, Tricia Thigpen (Michael) of Florence; a brother, Ray Jenkins (Debbie) of Florence; two sisters, Betty Jenkins of Marion and Miriam Allen of Nichols; two grandchildren, Ashley and Brittany Thigpen of Columbia, and several nieces.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 22, 2018 at Powell Cemetery in Fair Bluff, North Carolina.
