Kathleen Hodges Fowler, 89, of New Market, Maryland passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at Hebrew Home of Greater Washington. She was the daughter of the late Howell and Elizabeth Zimmerman Hodges. She worked for many years as a nurse in the maternity ward of Washington Adventist Hospital.

Mrs. Fowler was predeceased in addition to her parents, by her husband, John A. Fowler, Sr., a daughter, Kitty Powell, and a brother, William Hodges.

She is survived by her sons, Matthew Fowler and John Fowler, Jr.; four grandchildren, Amanda Powell, Chelsea Powell, John Fowler, III, and Zachary Fowler; one great-grandchild, John Fowler, IV; a sister, Clemie Sodergren, a daughter-in-law, Teresa Fox Gorseline, and a son-in-law, Jeff Powell.

Visitation was held on April 4, 2018 at Collins Funeral Home in Silver Spring, Maryland. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Cedardale Cemetery in Mullins, South Carolina. Meares Funeral Home of Mullins is in charge of local arrangements.
