Nichols- Kent Strickland, 49, died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at his home following an illness. He was born in Horry County, the son of Kenneth and Jean Huggins Strickland. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting. He was a member of the Causey Hunting Club and was an umpire for Dixie Youth Baseball. Survivors include his wife, Bobby Sue Strickland; two sons, Cullan and Louis Strickland, all of the home; and one brother, Sandy (Lori) Strickland of Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the chapel of Meares Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols, S.C.
