Coleman
Nov 16, 1946 — Jan 27, 2022
Nichols
Landis Coleman, 75, of Nichols passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon. He was born in Horry County on November 16, 1946, the son of the late Gordon Emerson Coleman and the late Myrtle Strickland Coleman.
Landis was a member of Wildwood Freewill Baptist Church in Nichols, a church that he was instrumental in establishing. His faithfulness to his family, the church, and his Savior left a testimony of the true godly man he was. His love for his family was so evident, and they in turn loved him. He was a loving husband to his beloved wife, Patricia, for over fifty years. Landis enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He touched the lives of many people during the over thirty years that he worked at Piggly Wiggly in Mullins. He always had a smile and a kind word for the customers that he was always eager to assist.
In addition to his parents, Landis was predeceased by a brother, Cecil Coleman and two sisters, Jeromae Huggins and Bonnie Faye Small.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Floyd Coleman; two daughters, Ammie Coleman Boyette and Regina Coleman Brown, both of Nichols; his grandchildren, Landis Brown (Faith), Kristan Williams (Seth), Austin Ford (Logan), and Gordon Ford (Taylor); four great-grandchildren with a soon-to-be fifth one.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 30, 2022 in the sanctuary of Wildwood Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday in the sanctuary of the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
If you would like to remember Landis, the family suggests that donations be made in his memory to Wildwood Freewill Baptist Church, 7922 B.L. Grey Road, Nichols, South Carolina 29581.
