Lila Mae Britt Fogle, 91, of Nichols passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019 at McLeod Loris Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Horry County on April 5, 1928, the daughter of the late Hallie and Irene Walker Britt. Mrs. Fogle was a member of Wannamaker Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir for many years. She helped on the family farm and made sure everyone was cared for and well fed. She was employed by Anvil Knitwear in Mullins for several years during the winter months. After leaving Anvil Knitwear, she started an in-home daycare. She cared for hundreds of children over a span of twenty years.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fogle was predeceased by her husband, Linwood Laverne Fogle, a son, Ronald Fogle (Joyce), two brothers, Carlyle and Hubert Britt, and two sisters, Mary Lucille Ford and Sarah Britt.

She is survived by two sons, Gerald Fogle (Gloria) and Charles "Chuck" Fogle (Wanda), both of Nichols; six grandchildren, Stephen Fogle of Athens, Georgia, Amber Fogle Todd (Chris) of Conway, Joshua Fogle (Jamie) of Nichols, Blake Fogle (Heather) of Aynor, Lacey Fogle Watts (Derick) of Loris and Wesley Fogle of Nichols; eleven great-grandchildren, Hope, Mackenzie, Harland, Ellah, Jayden, Kamden, Addison, Aiken, Axton, Nicholas and Ember.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2019 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Wannamaker Baptist Church with Reverend Shawn Brashear officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols.
