Mullins- Lillian W. McCathern, 93, died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Marion Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Warren County, Georgia, a daughter of the late John Henry and Bertha Silas Wood. She was one of five siblings and a dedicated member of Mullins First Baptist Church and the Adult IV Sunday School Department. Mrs. McCathern was predeceased in addition to her parents by her husband, Joseph Lemon McCathern; one son, Joseph Ashley McCathern and one daughter, Bertie McCathern Kemp. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Strickland of Columbia, Maryland and Jean McCathern Teal of West Columbia, S.C., ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Mullins First Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at the church at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be at Devotion Gardens in Mullins.
