Linda
Herring
Dec 10, 1946 — Aug 27, 2021
Nichols
Linda Faye Elliott Herring, 74, of Nichols passed away peacefully on Friday, August 27, 2021 at MUSC Health Marion Medical Center. She was born in Marion County on December 10, 1946, the daughter of the late Frank and Loria Small Elliott.
Linda was a woman of strong Christian faith and was very knowledgeable of the Bible. She lived her life based on the teachings of the Bible and raised her family this same way. Linda had attended Floyds Freewill Baptist Church, where her brother was the pastor. In her early years, she worked at Russell Stover in Marion, and she enjoyed fishing in her free time. Her greatest blessing was her family, and she spent most of her time taking care of Larry, her beloved husband of fifty-eight years. She was an excellent cook and will always be remembered for the biscuits that were hard to refuse and hard to duplicate.
In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by a son, Michael "Shawn" Herring, four brothers, Bruce, Ben, Clyde Elliott, and Thelbert Elliott and three sisters, Anita Elliott, Annette Elliott, and Leta Bell Barfield.
Surviving are her husband, Larry James Herring of Nichols; a son, Larry Kenneth "Kenny" Herring (Connie) of Nichols; a daughter, Loria Herring Collins (Johnny) of Marion; grandchildren, Dennis James Herring (Keli) of Conway, Bradley Kenneth Herring of Nichols, Summer Collins Hayes (Dusty) of Latta, Kemp Collins (Heather) of Marion and Justin Larry Herring of Nichols; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Brooklynn, Brayden, Sawyer, Levi, Hannah, and soon to be, Webb Elliott, and a brother, Elbert Elliott (Patricia) of Nichols.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Elliott Cemetery in Nichols. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
