Charles Lynn Dowless, Jr. 44, of Nichols passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 at McLeod Loris. He was born on October 5, 1976 in Lumberton, North Carolina, the son of Charles Dowless, Sr. and the late Helen Musselwhite Dowless.

Lynn loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He had a heart of gold and was always helping others. In his spare time, he could often be found building things or working on cars. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother, Lynn is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John Henry Dowless and Lorena Packer, his maternal grandmother, Janie Musselwhite, and an uncle, Houston Dowless.

Lynn is survived by his fiancé, Linda Allen and her daughter, Kiessence Swinton; his father and stepmother, Charles and Christine Dowless of Nichols; his children, Joseph Alexander Dowless, Harley Marie Dowless, and Samara Dowless; two sisters, Jean Carroll and Marcie Musselwhite, both of Lumberton; stepsisters, Clara Gandy (Darrell) of Conway and Teresa Norris (Keith) of Loris; two stepbrothers, Raymond Prevatte (Wendy) of Aynor and Dean Prevatte (Lori) of Nichols, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery in Nichols with Reverend Maxie Hardee officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
