Nichols- Madge Britt Israel, 84, died Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at her home. She was born in Roland, N.C., a daughter of the late John and Zettie Owens Britt. She was a farmer and a housewife. Mrs. Israel was predeceased by a brother, John E. Britt Jr. and two sisters, Gladys Britt King and Beady Britt Duncan. She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Lonzo Israel, a son, Carl (Nancy) Israel of Nichols and Janet Israel of Marion; three granddaughters, Jill Israel (Dave) Kolesar, Christy Israel (Michael) Barnhill, and Jenny Israel (Chris) Hatcher; two great-granddaughters, Kaylee Hatcher and Kendal Barnhill, and three great-grandsons, Carson Hatcher, David Kolesar, and Jack Kolesar. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 26, 2012 in the chapel of Meares Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery on Calvary Road in Nichols.
