She was born in Mullins, South Carolina on December 12, 1960, one of twin daughters born to the late James B. King and the late Frances Branton King.
Martha graduated from Green Sea Floyds High School in 1980. She spent many years working with Marion Regional Healthcare System and Marion County Medical Center as a medical secretary. Martha was well-known for her ability to cook. There were many people who were recipients of her delicious cakes and dishes that she made with love, as well as many recipes that she enjoyed sharing with others. She had also worked at Cool Springs Superette cooking for their many customers. She loved seeing old friends there and making new ones. Martha loved her dogs, Buttercup and Gizzey and the unconditional love and companionship they provided. Martha will forever be remembered for her generous spirit, her passion for helping others, and her love for her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Martha was predeceased by her brother, James Glen King.
