Johnny "Michael" Williamson, Sr., 57, of Nichols passed away at his home on Friday, August 21, 2020.  The son of Cherry Powell Williamson and the late Douglas M. Williamson, he was born in Mullins on October 2, 1962.

Michael enjoyed working with his hands and undertaking new ventures.  A plumber by trade and an all-around handyman, he was a well-known skilled craftsman.  It has been said that Michael loved to tear things down just so he could challenge himself in putting them back together and in good working order.  He was a man who was committed to his family and would help anyone whether he knew them or not.  Michael and his faithful canine, Chico were inseparable and shared a unique bond.  He was an avid cartoon fan and found enjoyment watching his favorite animated characters.

In addition to his father, Michael was also preceded in death by his wife, Robin.

He is survived by his mother Cherry Williamson of Ridgeway, SC; sons, Johnny M. Williamson, Jr. (Mary) of Nichols, Billy Williamson of Lake View and Joshua Williamson (Frances) of Mullins; daughters, Melissa Williamson of Nichols and Beth Smith of Florence; fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2020 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. A memorial remembrance service will be held following the visitation at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
