Mullins- Morris B. Gibson, 88, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Colleton County, the son of the late Brantley and Sallie Sauls Gibson. Mr. Gibson was a loving husband and father and worked for many years with Palmetto Hardwood in Marion. He loved baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves and going fishing. Mr. Gibson was predeceased in addition to his parents, by two brothers, Charles and Howard Gibson, and a sister, Gertrude Polk. He is survived by his devoted wife of sixty-three years, Martha Sauls Gibson; a daughter, Brenda (Brian) Jackson of Hope Mills, NC; two brothers, Norman (Diane) Gibson of Islandton, SC and Henry Gibson of Sumter; two sisters, Valerie Hiers of Walterboro, SC and Loraine Priester of North Augusta, SC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September, 17, 2015 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 18th in the chapel of the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m., that afternoon at Johnson-St. Paul Cemetery in Hampton, SC.
