Nick
Smith
Aug 4, 2001 — Jul 9, 2021
Mullins
Nicholas William Smith, beloved son of Rich and Shayla Smith, found eternal peace in the arms of his waiting Savior this past weekend. Nick, as he was known by his family and friends, was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on August 4, 2001, and lovingly shared with Rich and Shayla by his birth family.
Nick was a graduate of Marion High School and an active member of Mullins First Baptist Church, where he never had a shortage of friends. He was very tech savvy, not being satisfied with just using technology, he wanted to understand how it worked as well. He was scheduled to begin taking technology classes in the fall. With his quick wit, Nick impacted the lives of those around him in his own unique ways. He spent many hours riding his hoverboard up and down the street in his neighborhood. Even the neighbors knew to watch for him as they traveled to and from home. Nick was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
Nick is survived by his loving family, including his parents, Rich and Shayla, a brother, Andrew Logan Smith; two sisters, Madison Hope Smith and Laci-Joy Lynn Smith, all of Mullins; his maternal grandparents, Charles William and Sharon Lee Ward of Pleasant Plain, Ohio; paternal grandparents, Karen Ann Murray (Len) of Ocala, Florida and Keith A. Smith (Gina) of LaPorte, Indiana; an uncle, Jamie William Ward (Mildred) of Bowling Green, Kentucky and an aunt, Carey Mathis of Taft, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021 in the Fellowship Hall of Mullins First Baptist Church. A service to celebrate Nick's life will follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of the church with Reverend Robbie Baxley officiating. The service will be streamed live on the Mullins First Baptist Church Facebook page for those unable to attend.
If you would like to remember Nick, the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in his memory to the Audio-Visual Fund of Mullins First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 443, Mullins, South Carolina 29574.
