Santos "Oscar" Cervantes Contreras, 47, of Mullins, passed away Monday, June 16, 2025, in Conway, South Carolina. He was born in Zimapan Hidalgo, Mexico on October 12, 1977, the son of Vicente Cervantes Ruiz and the late Eustolia De Jesus Contreras.

Oscar was a contractor in both the Horry and Marion County areas, where he was well-known for his strong work ethic. He worked countless hours getting the construction jobs done to meet the owner's expectations and on time. A best friend, husband, father, and soulmate, Oscar loved his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with them and loved watching his children play sports. A longtime animal lover, Oscar had a special place in his heart for his four dogs. He also enjoyed fishing in his free time.

Oscar is survived by his wife, Jessica Barrientes; four children, Oscar Cervantes, Jr., Adam Cervantes, Christopher Cervantes, and Benjamin Cervantes; a brother, Sabino Cervantes Contreras; sisters, Guadalupe Cervantes Contreras, Sandra Cervantes Contreras, and Elvira Cervantes Contreras, and many friends.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins.
