Marion- Randall Small, 73, of Marion passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Carolinas Hospital System in Marion. He was born in Marion County, a son of the late Dewey Chalmer and Edna Marie Calhoun Small. Following a vision that Randall and his wife had, they opened Sparky's, a place to stop and shop, that is well-known both by the citizens of this county and the travelers on Highway 501. Mr. Small is survived by his wife of forty years, Linda Wild Small; six sons, Dewey Small of Greenville, Matthew (Ashley) Small of Charlotte, N.C., Adam (Kimberly) Small of Indianapolis, IN, Ryan (Jasmine) Small of Myrtle Beach, Grant (Keri) Small of Anderson, and Alex (Heather) Small of Marion; two brothers, Nelson (Joyce) Small of Atlanta, GA, and Herbert (Marcia) Small of Marion; thirteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2014 at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow at Red Hill Memorial Gardens.
