Obituary

Ricky Dale Buffkin, 54, of Mullins passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Grand Strand Medical Center. He was surrounded by his loving family that he fought so hard to stay with following his recent illness. Ricky was born in Mullins on March 6, 1967, the son of the late Winston Buck Buffkin and Rosemary Stanton Buffkin.

Early in life, Ricky developed a love of cars, and it never left him. He loved everything mechanical and owned and operated Precision Automotive in Mullins for over twenty years. It didn't matter if it was a performance fast car, custom built car, or restoring classic cars, he loved them all. There was only one thing that he loved more, and that was the family that he loved fully and unconditionally. He relished the time spent with his girls and his grandchildren, especially his little princess, Faith and his little twin, Cam. He enjoyed snuggling and eating cookies with Lexi and Rylee and riding the golf cart with Emery. They were truly the loves of his life, and he took good care of them. They in turn took care of him, responding to "The Boss" and trying to get him whatever he needed or wanted to eat. He was a hard worker, generous and enjoyed helping others. Time spent at the beach and the mountains and driving his custom-built Mustang were among his favorite things to do.

Ricky told his grandchildren to always be strong and always be helpful and never give up. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Gregory Leigh Buffkin and a brother-in-law, Joe Owens.

He is survived by his mother, Rosemary Buffkin; two daughters, Lindsay "Niki" Buffkin and Candace Brooke Buffkin (Julian Chestnut) both of Mullins; a brother, Johnny Duepree George, Jr. of Charlotte; two sisters, Gayle Godbold Pitts of Lugoff and Carla Jean Owens of Mullins; five grandchildren, Chasity Faith Buffkin, Cameron Jacob Buffkin, Caroline Alexis Scott, Emery Kane Gause, and Rylee Eliana Scott; an employee and friend that was like a son, Russ Ratley; the mother of his children, Kimberly Moody Buffkin of Dillon, lifelong buddy and business partner, John Lehto, and several special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Meares Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 1, 2021 in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Buffkin Cemetery in Green Sea.

The family would like to thank Dr. Shore, his nurse, Jonie, and Linda Jones for their skilled care and concern for Ricky.
