Sherrell C. Blanton,73, of Nichols passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 at McLeod Loris Hospital following a period of declining health.  He was born in Nichols, South Carolina on February 17, 1947, a son of the late Clyde Blanton and the late Muriel Huggins Blanton.  Sherrell attended the University of South Carolina and was an avid Gamecock fan.  He loved sports and especially when it was his Gamecocks playing.  Sherrell will be remembered for his ability to make others laugh with his quick wit.

In addition to his parents, Sherrell was predeceased by two sisters, Marilyn Black and Linda Dials.

He is survived by a brother, Terry Ray Blanton and his wife, Patty of Fort Mill; a sister, Carolyn Johnston of Rock Hill and numerous nieces and nephews.

There are no funeral services planned at this time.
