Nichols
Susan Lyle Taylor Causey, 70, wife of Alan Causey, of Nichols, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. She was born in Mullins, South Carolina on December 2, 1953, the daughter of the late Carlyle William Taylor and the late Joyce Floyd Taylor.
Susan graduated from Mullins High School and received her bachelor's degree from Francis Marion University. She taught middle school in the Marion County School District, before making the decision to focus on her family and her home. Susan married the love of her life, Alan, and together they raised three children, who were their pride and joy. Her family grew to include a grandchild which made life even better. As her children got older, she began helping her parents in the family business, Dixie Laundry and Dry Cleaners in Mullins. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, known for its warmth and the unforgettable smell of something good cooking. In addition to family and cooking, her passions included reading, shopping, and working with her hands doing needlework. She was a member of Nichols United Methodist Church. Her memory will be a treasure in the hearts of many.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Alan Causey; a son, Will Causey (Whitney Lewis); two daughters, Stacey Causey (Craig Sanderson) and Stephanie Causey (Dobbin Townsend); special granddaughter, Taylor Causey, and her loving sister, Ann Taylor.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 12:00 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2024, at Meares Funeral Home in Mullins. Funeral services will follow the visitation beginning at 12:00 noon on Saturday at the funeral home. The family will lay her to rest in a committal service at Riverside Cemetery.
