Obituary

Susan Stackhouse Foil, 64, of Rock Hill and formerly of Mullins, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 9, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born in Mullins, South Carolina on November 18, 1958, the daughter of the late J.B. "Bunk" Stackhouse and the late Lorine Moody Stackhouse.

Susan graduated from Mullins High School in 1977 and attended Columbia College before receiving her degree in Accounting from Florence-Darlington Technical College. Following her graduation, Susan began working in the banking and insurance industry. It was during this time that she was introduced to her beloved Mark. They later married and maintained a loving and supportive marriage until Mark's passing in 2019. Susan loved nothing more than being a stay-at-home mom, where she was able to focus on her life, her home, caring for her aging parents, and raising her children. The highlight for Susan was the arrival of her grandchildren, and she delighted in everything about being "Nana". She made it a point to be involved in the lives of her family until her illness no longer allowed her to do so. Susan was a humble and kind person and will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she touched. She was a lifelong member of Macedonia United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by her husband, Mark Alan Foil, Sr.

She is survived by her son, Mark Alan Foil, Jr. (Kim) of Charleston; a daughter, Lorie Anne Foil of Rock Hill; brother, Jim Stackhouse of Mt. Pleasant, a sister, Marianne Stackhouse of Mullins; six grandchildren, Kimney L. Foil, Mark Foil III, Caden E. Foil, Wyatt E. Foil, Kevin D. Mock, and Patrick A. Mock (Kate);a great-grandchild, P.J. Mock; brother-in-law, Drew Foil of Mullins, nieces, Brittany F. Shelley, Lindsay F. Matthews, and Tucker Foil, and a special family friend, Wally Dixon.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Cedardale Cemetery in Mullins with Reverend Wally Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.
