Sylvia Kaye Holden Register, beloved wife of Billy Register of Marion, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 9, 2024, with Billy right by her side. She was born in Marion County, the daughter of the late Lewis E. Holden and the late Theda Rogers Holden.

Sylvia worked for many years as a telephone operator, first with Southern Bell and later retired from AT&T. Faith and prayer were powerful in Sylvia's life. Both gave her courage, strength, and gratitude for the many blessings she had in her life and for the challenges as her health began to fail. She was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was an avid Clemson fan and enjoyed cheering for her Tigers and spending time with her friends. Her greatest love was Billy, her husband of fifty-three years.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was predeceased by a brother, Teddy Kurt, nephew, Kurt Holden, niece, Kim Holden Ferguson, and a brother-in-law, John Huggins.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Register; a sister-in-law, Jean Huggins, nephews, Darren (Shannon) Terry, and Eric (Allyson) Holden, and cousins, Bryan (Angela) Rogers and Sherry (Randall) Causey.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Cindy Smith officiating. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of the church following the service.

If you would like to remember Sylvia, the family suggests that donations be made in her memory to Shiloh Methodist Church, 3903 Highway 76, Marion, South Carolina 29571.
