Teresa Irene Grace Elvington, 57, of Nichols passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Teresa was born in Mullins on November 18, 1958, the daughter of Dr. Robert Earl "Sam" Elvington and Mary Florence Shelley Elvington.

Teresa was a 1976 graduate of Mullins High School and a 1981 graduate of The University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy. Teresa served many years as a pharmacist with the Mullins and Marion hospital systems. She was a member of Nichols United Methodist Church and the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution-Drowning Creek Chapter. A woman of great character, she touched many lives with her genuine kindness and gentle spirit. Teresa loved history and often shared that love with others through stories of the past. A loving sister and adoring Aunt Tootie, family meant the most to her. Teresa will continue to walk among us as we remember her Christ-like goodness and strive to emulate it.

Teresa was predeceased in addition to her parents, by her beloved grandparents, and a brother-in-law, Charlie Gilbert Enzor.

Teresa is survived by her sister, Harriet Elvington Enzor of Murrells Inlet, her beloved nephew, 1st Lt. Gilbert Elvington Enzor, U.S. Army, Fort Polk, LA, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she adored.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 at her home, Flagstone, in Nichols, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2016 at Nichols Baptist Church directed by Meares Funeral Home of Mullins. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
