Obituary

Virginia Lee Grant Lane, 90, of Mullins passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. She was born in Hartsville, South Carolina on October 31, 1931, the daughter of the late Joe Henry Grant and the late Dora Smith Grant Duncan.

An avid gardener, Virginia delighted in all things green and colorful that she grew in her yard. She was so proud that she was able to pass her love for gardening to her daughters. She also enjoyed sharing her knowledge of flowers as a member of the local garden club. Virginia was a member of Mullins First Baptist Church where she enjoyed worshipping with her church family and singing in the choir. Although not particularly fond of cooking, she made sure her family always had a meal, complete with the best homemade biscuits ever. She was so loved and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her beloved husband, J.C. Lane, two brothers, Billy Joe Grant and Smitty Grant.

She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne L. Harris and her husband, Kenneth of Maxton, North Carolina and Elizabeth Lane Argo and her husband, Reamer of Huntsville, Alabama; two half-brothers, Joe Henry Grant and Doug Grant; two sisters-in-law, Jean Grant and Diane Grant; three grandchildren, Reamer Argo, Jennifer Argo, and Amy Muskus, ten great-grandchildren, Joshua, Laura, Olivia, Elias, Solomon, Reamer, Tucker, Ryder, Grace, and Michael, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Devotion Gardens. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.

If you would like to remember Virginia, the family suggests that you do a kind deed for someone in need or make a donation in her memory to Mullins First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 433, Mullins, South Carolina 29574.

The family would like to thank two special angels that God sent to them to care for their mother, Esther Brunson and Mary Ruby Rogers. The loving care and gift of music that they gave to their mother will never be forgotten.
