Obituary

Arnold Wayne Shoe, 86, of Nichols passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Salisbury, North Carolina, the son of the late Arthur Hardy Shoe, Sr. and Marie Cress Shoe.

Mr. Shoe was a humble, kind and "gentle" gentleman. He loved his family and his eyes would sparkle when his grandchildren came into the room. His greatest love, however, was for his Sadie, his beloved wife of twenty-one years. Mr. Shoe proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.

Mr. Shoe was predeceased, in addition to his parents, by a stepson, Jack Edward Williams, Jr.; three brothers, Arthur, Grady, and Dwight Shoe, and a sister, Juanita Shoe Coates.

He is survived by his wife, Sadie; a son, David Wayne Shoe of Emerald Isle, North Carolina; a daughter, Deborah (Scott) Martin of Marion; stepson, Travis Williams of Nichols; stepdaughter, Tracey (Laurie) Driggers of Marion; one grandchild, Hannah Martin, three step-grandchildren, Taylor Rae Williams, Michelle (Brandon) Williamson and Lauren Bell; two step-great-grandchildren, Brantley and Jack Williamson, and a step-daughter-in-law, Catherine Williams Butler.

The family will greet friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2018 in the Fellowship Hall of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church with burial at Palmetto Memorial Gardens in Marion.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in his memory to McLeod Seacoast Hospice, 4000 Highway 9 East, Little River, South Carolina 29566.
